The Rhythm of Repetition

The unfamiliar nature of our classroom exercise, “Guidelines for Composing” urged altogether different conditions in which to write expressively. The newness of this structured activity edged me outside of my usual composing process and requested adjustment into the instructions at hand. The compositional outcome was more substantial than I had recognized at the close of class time. When I looked back on what had been recorded during the exercise, I discovered a flow of ideas more coherent than first noticed at their moment of inception.
For this phase of the assignment, in keeping with the experimental feel of this exercise, I wish to utilize a more malleable, less structured compositional format than I am normally accustomed. It starts in the first moments of our classroom work:
Whole Being Recognition
I feel relaxed and comfortable.
My mind is open to new ideas and I want to discover something meaningful through this process.
My body feels balanced and attuned with my Self.
I am nourished, free of pain, with unobstructed breath and a light feeling in my chest and shoulders.
My center is supporting my posture and allowing access to think freely about the topic at hand.

Attached is the work I composed following this exercise.

The multimodal portion is in the form of a Windows Movie, in an exploration of my understanding of the relationship between somatic embodiment and knowledge.
