“Every good poem brings us something that has never been said before, usually something more intricate than what is usually said.” I’ve always been fascinated by how poetry creates these ‘intricate’ feelings. What is it about the words, or how they are placed that continue to have this …. effect? Is it what the poets writes or is it what is felt after? And does everyone have that same reaction? Poems for the most part are shorter than any other type of writing, yet can have much more of an impact. I feel I’m left with many ….. after a great poem. Also interesting was the section about “a hunch” –is it in our bodies or is the feeling around us? I’ve always felt it was in my body– yet when I think about say, something scary, it feels like the feeling is around me, or behind a door, or waiting just behind me. I’m very intrigue with …. I look forward to the exercise to uncover this ‘sense.’
